Well Carcassonne is in the Aude department in south-central France...it's very near to the Pyrenees and the Spanish border whereas my family comes from the Charente-Maritime department which is on the southwestern coast of France...both areas are very nice...well all of France is nice!

hehe spoken like a true patriot, but I'm sure you are not biased for it does seem like a wonderful place to travel to! In fact one of my best friends is going on a Eurotrip this summer with a short stop in France. She says she is going to stay at a vineyard somewhere in the South, but will work for her stay. So I am really excited for her! Any tips on best hotspots? She says she will use the bicycle rental...thing, do you know what I am talking about? Have you been to Toulouse? I've always wanted to visit it.

Oh yes Toulouse is awesome and the bicycle rentals are a great idea...certainly one of the most economical ways to get around...Do you know where in the south she'll be going?
